Another Apple September event has concluded, and while most leaks and rumors proved accurate, the debut of Apple's first foldable smartphone certainly captured attention, even with its record-breaking price tag.
The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max retain a familiar silhouette while introducing four new color options: Black, Silver, Glacier (deep blue), and Burgundy (dark red), featuring color-matched metal frames and glass backs. The Dynamic Island is also more compact this year, supporting up to three concurrent actions.

Powering the iPhone 18 Pro is the new A20 Pro chip built on 2nm architecture, housing a six-core CPU that Apple states is 20% faster than the A19 Pro. It also incorporates a 7-core GPU with 40% faster graphics performance, a 32-core Neural Engine, and an expanded vapor chamber connected directly to the SoC to significantly enhance thermal performance.
Camera capabilities receive a massive overhaul on the iPhone 18 Pro, led by physical variable apertures that let in 50% more light in dark settings. Cinematic Video now supports 60fps, Time Lapse operates in 4K Dolby Vision HDR, and the new Pro Controls feature allows direct adjustment of shutter speed, aperture, and white balance without third-party apps.
The introduction of the iPhone Duo as Apple's inaugural foldable device marks a strategic entry into the foldable smartphone segment after years of Android dominance. Priced at $1,999, Apple is firmly targeting the ultra-premium tier of mobile consumers with this hardware milestone.
Pricing for the iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 for 256GB, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299. Both models are available for preorder on Saturday, September 12, and hit shelves on Friday, September 18. (A standard iPhone 18 was notably absent from the lineup.)
Apple also introduced AirPods 5 starting at $129 with Active Noise Cancellation, an upgraded $149 model with stem volume controls, alongside the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 equipped with a continuous Health Sensing System that tracks heart rates every five seconds.
