Chelsea have officially confirmed the acquisition of forward Danny Welbeck from Brighton & Hove Albion. The 35-year-old former Manchester United and Arsenal player has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Stamford Bridge outfit.
Welbeck began his professional journey at Manchester United before completing a £16 million move to Arsenal in 2014. After spending five seasons in north London and a stint at Watford, he moved to Brighton in 2020. Neither club has disclosed the financial terms of his latest transfer.

During the previous campaign with the Seagulls, Welbeck netted a career-high 13 league goals across 37 matches, with only three English players outscoring him in the Premier League. He becomes Chelsea's third summer arrival, following Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa and Marco Palestra from Atalanta.
