The /tags page shows a full tag cloud, toggleable between alphabetical and most-popular order, and /tag/[name] shows every article under that tag - discoverable via Google and sitemap.xml

Every key image on the site shows a blur effect before the real image finishes loading, instead of empty space

When you copy a longer passage of text from an article, the article's title and link are appended automatically

The /bookmarks page has buttons to export your saved articles to a JSON file and import them back - handy for moving between devices/browsers

Per-category RSS feeds

Every category has its own RSS link on its category page (e.g. /category/technology/rss.xml), so you can follow just the categories you care about

The About and Sitemap pages show total articles published and total categories as animated counting numbers

The /search page shows your recent search terms as clickable chips, just like the menu-bar search box already does

"Related tags" widget on article pages

The article-page sidebar suggests other articles sharing a tag with the one you're reading, separate from the existing category-based suggestions

Browse all past articles by publish month at /archive - handy for revisiting older news, with the same newest/popular/most-shared sort options as category and tag pages

Highlighted search terms in results

The search page highlights matching search terms within both article titles and their summaries, making relevance easier to see

Filter saved articles by category

The /bookmarks page can filter your saved articles by category (articles bookmarked from the article page carry their category info along), and has a toggle to sort by newest/oldest saved

Close mobile menu with Esc

With the mobile menu open, press Esc to close it instantly - no need to hunt for a close button or tap the background

"Last updated" badge

Articles edited a good while after publishing get a "Last updated" badge next to the publish date

Copy article as Markdown

A button in the end-of-title share box copies the full article as Markdown text with a source citation - handy for notes or AI tools

iPhone/iPad install instructions

iOS Safari users (who don't get an automatic install button) get step-by-step instructions for adding the site to their home screen when they tap "Install app"

Sticky category shortcut bar

The homepage has a horizontally scrolling category-icon bar that sticks to the top while scrolling, letting you jump categories without scrolling back up

Suggestions on empty search results

A search with no results suggests all categories and popular articles instead, so readers never hit a dead end

New-article count in the browser tab title

When there's news, the browser tab title shows a count, e.g. "(3) Inewgen", visible even when the tab isn't focused

Click an image within an article's content to view it full-screen; press Esc or click the background to close

Keyboard focus trapping in popups

The shortcuts window and iOS install instructions keep Tab focus cycling within the popup instead of escaping to content behind it, for better accessibility

Added a "Most shared" sort option on Search, Category, and Tag pages to find what people are sharing most

Real-time remaining reading time

While scrolling an article, a badge shows the estimated time left, updating as you actually scroll

Search box on the 404 page

The not-found page has a built-in search box - type and press Enter to search immediately, no need to visit the Search page first

Toggle comment order

Switch comments between "Newest first", "Oldest first", and "Most liked" with one button at the end of an article

Scroll position preserved on back navigation

Scroll through an article list, open one article, then press Back - you return to the exact scroll position instead of jumping to the top every time

Grid/list view toggle

Category, subcategory, tag, and author pages let you switch between grid view (large image cards) and list view (compact, more visible at once), remembered on your device

Categories you haven't read yet

The homepage suggests categories you haven't opened yet, based on reading history stored on your own device, encouraging you to explore other parts of the site

Every article has a "Report an issue" link at the end that opens an email pre-filled with the article's link, saving a trip to a separate contact page

Per-tag RSS feeds

Every tag has its own RSS link (e.g. /tag/AI/rss.xml), just like categories already do

Auto RSS discovery in browsers/readers

Category and tag pages embed a tag that lets browsers or RSS readers auto-detect that page's specific feed without copying a link

Cookie consent banner

Your first visit shows a banner asking permission before enabling Google Analytics - accept or reject. Analytics only runs once you accept, and you can change your mind anytime via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer

AI-written content badge

Every article header carries a clear "AI-written" badge, letting readers know the content was written up by AI from public news sources

Articles published in the last 48 hours are submitted to Google via a dedicated news sitemap format (/sitemap-news.xml), improving the odds of appearing in Google News and Discover

Reading streak

The homepage shows a 🔥 badge counting the consecutive days you've come back to read - appears once you've read on 2+ days in a row, encouraging daily visits (stored on this device only)

Follow a category or tag

Category and tag pages have a "Follow" button - once followed, the desktop new-article notification only pings for matching news, cutting down on notifications you don't care about (stored on this device only)

Manage what you follow

A "Following" widget on the homepage lists every category and tag you follow in one place, with a one-click unfollow instead of having to go back to that category/tag page

Homepage scroll cue

A gently bouncing arrow invites you to scroll down on the homepage - only shows while you're at the very top and fades away once you start scrolling

Installed-app shortcuts

Once Inewgen is installed as an app, long-press (mobile) or right-click (desktop) the app icon for quick shortcuts to Search, Saved Articles, and Reading History without opening the app first
