iOS Safari users (who don't get an automatic install button) get step-by-step instructions for adding the site to their home screen when they tap "Install app"

Sticky category shortcut bar

The homepage has a horizontally scrolling category-icon bar that sticks to the top while scrolling, letting you jump categories without scrolling back up

Suggestions on empty search results

A search with no results suggests all categories and popular articles instead, so readers never hit a dead end

Toggle comment order

Switch comments between "Newest first", "Oldest first", and "Most liked" with one button at the end of an article

Scroll position preserved on back navigation

Scroll through an article list, open one article, then press Back - you return to the exact scroll position instead of jumping to the top every time

Grid/list view toggle

Category, subcategory, tag, and author pages let you switch between grid view (large image cards) and list view (compact, more visible at once), remembered on your device

Auto RSS discovery in browsers/readers

Category and tag pages embed a tag that lets browsers or RSS readers auto-detect that page's specific feed without copying a link

Cookie consent banner

Your first visit shows a banner asking permission before enabling Google Analytics - accept or reject. Analytics only runs once you accept, and you can change your mind anytime via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer

The homepage has one opinion poll a day, written by AI from that day's top story. Tap once to vote and see live result bars of what everyone else picked (refreshing every 30 seconds). One vote per day, with a button to invite friends, and you can come back to watch the results all day (which option you picked is stored on this device only)

Quiz streak + new badges

Play the Daily Quiz on consecutive days and the score screen shows a 🔥 day-streak badge, plus four new badges at /achievements (3- and 7-day quiz streaks, first poll vote, and 5 poll votes)

Select text to share a quote

Select a passage in an article (15+ characters) and a small floating bar appears to copy it as a quote with the article title and link, or share that passage to X, Facebook, or LINE (the device share button on mobile) in one tap - or press q to copy it from the keyboard and Esc to dismiss the bar

Adjustable line spacing

A line-spacing button next to the font-size buttons on article pages cycles through Tight/Normal/Airy (airy lines make Thai text easier on small screens), and remembers your choice on this device for every article

Adjustable read-aloud speed

While listening to an article or the daily briefing, a speed button (0.8× / 1× / 1.25× / 1.5× / 1.75×) cycles the pace instantly without restarting (the paragraph being read restarts at the new speed), and your choice is remembered on this device for every listen

Highlight the paragraph being read aloud

While "Listen to article" plays, the paragraph being read is highlighted in sync and the page scrolls along so you can follow where it is (if you scroll by hand while listening, auto-scroll stops so it never pulls you back, but the highlight keeps following)

Send the key points to LINE or copy them

Under the "Key points" box at the top of an article there are "Copy summary" and "Send to LINE" buttons (plus the device share button on mobile) - one tap gives a short summary with the headline and a read-more link, ready to forward in a group chat without retyping

Key points only reading mode

A "Key points only" button in the article reading-settings row hides the full text and keeps just the key-points box - a 10-second read that suits skimming news on mobile. Click again for the full article ("Listen to article" also reads only the key points in this mode, and your choice is remembered on this device)

Save a quote as an image card

Select text in an article and tap the picture icon on the floating bar to get a 4:5 quote card (gradient background, the quote, the headline and the Inewgen logo) as a PNG ready to post on Facebook/Instagram/LINE - on mobile it opens the device share sheet, on desktop it downloads as a file

Save quotes for later (/highlights)

Select text in an article and press the bookmark icon on the floating bar to keep that quote on the "Saved quotes" page, with a link back to the article - reopen it, copy it with the link, turn it into an image card, or remove items one by one (stored on this device only, up to 200 items)

3 new quote badges

Three new badges at /achievements come from the quote features: Quote Keeper (first saved quote), Quote Librarian (5 saved quotes) and Card Maker (first quote image card) - unlocking one shows an instant popup

Search, export and import saved quotes

The /highlights page has a search box (from 5 saved quotes), export to JSON (backup / move to another device) or Markdown (paste into a notes app, with source links), and JSON import that automatically skips duplicate or invalid entries

Today's news stories (slideshow)

The homepage shows a row of circles for today's top stories (ranked by views in the last 24h) - tap one to open a full-screen, Instagram-style slideshow that auto-advances every few seconds, press and hold to pause, tap left/right to go back/forward, and hit "Read full article" to open the story. Each circle's ring dims once you've viewed it that day, and there are 2 new badges at /achievements for watching story slides

"Reading now" badge

Article pages show a real-time count of how many people are currently reading that same article (a small pulsing green dot), shown only once 2 or more people are reading at the same time. Counted from tabs that actually have the page open - not tied to any account or cookie

Celebration effect on badge unlock

Every time you unlock a new achievement badge, a brief burst of colorful confetti plays alongside the usual popup notification, for a bit more of a "you won something" feel (automatically reduced for anyone whose device is set to reduce motion)

While you were away

When you come back to the site (3+ hours since your last visit), the homepage tells you how many new stories were published since then, plus the 3 most-read of them. Your last-visit time is remembered in your own browser - no login needed - and the card can be dismissed

"Which Is Hotter?" game

A mini game at /hotter: guess whether the story on the right got more or fewer readers than the one on the left. Guess right to keep going, wrong and it's game over. Your best streak is saved on your device, scores can be shared, and 2 new badges unlock at 5 and 10 in a row

"Which Is Hotter?" daily challenge

Everyone gets the same 10 pairs each day (new set at midnight Thailand time). One attempt per day, and a wrong guess doesn't end it - you play all 10, then get a 🟩🟥 grid to share and compare with friends. Tracks your daily streak, with a "Daily Regular" badge for 3 days in a row

Swipe the News

The /swipe page lets you go through the latest stories one card at a time: swipe right to save for later (into your saved articles, synced to your account when logged in), left to skip, tap the headline to read. Arrow keys work on a computer, and stories you've already swiped or read don't come back

How much time do you have?

The /quick-read page: pick 5, 10 or 15 minutes and get a set of the latest stories you can finish in that time, leaning toward the categories you read most (from this device's history), skipping what you've read, max 2 per category. Shuffle for another set. While reading, the end of each article shows your place in the set with a link to the next story

Story timeline

At the end of an article: other stories on the same topic (from the article's most specific tag), newest first, with the one you're reading highlighted - see what happened before and after. Tap through to the full tag page

Developing stories

A homepage section of the topics with several new stories in the last 3 days (broad and publisher tags filtered out, one card per story), each card showing its latest 3 headlines on a mini timeline. Swipeable on phones

Catch up on a story (/story)

The /story/<tag> page tells every article on one topic from the first report to the latest, grouped by day with a short summary each. Shows how many you have read, what is new since your last visit, jumps to the first unread, and flips oldest/newest first. Reached from the timeline at the end of an article or the homepage developing-stories cards

Go to... (Ctrl/⌘+K)

Press Ctrl/⌘+K anywhere (or "Go to..." in the mobile menu) for one box that finds pages, tools, stories and tags, plus quick actions: theme, language, random story. Arrow keys + Enter work; with nothing typed it shows what you read last

Share your saved stories as a list

The bookmarks page has "Share this list": name it and get a /list link to send (current filter and order, up to 30 stories). Whoever opens it sees the stories with short summaries and can "Save all" into their own bookmarks in one tap

Weekly reading goal

A homepage card lets you set a goal of 5, 10 or 20 stories this week, with a progress ring and how many stories/days are left (resets every Monday, Thailand time). Counted from this device's reading history; hitting it earns a 🎯 badge, and 4 weeks earns 🏅

Share an article as a story

A "Story" button in the article's share row creates a vertical 9:16 image (photo, category, headline, summary and an inewgen.co link) and opens your phone's share sheet so you can post it straight to an Instagram/Facebook/LINE story; on a computer the image downloads instead
