England midfielder Jordan Henderson has officially joined Chelsea on a two-year deal after his contract with Brentford was mutually terminated. The 36-year-old veteran arrives with an extensive resume filled with top-flight and international honours.
During his memorable spell at Anfield, Henderson captained Liverpool to the Premier League title in the 2019-20 season. He also secured the Champions League, the FA Cup, two League Cups, the Uefa Super Cup, and the Fifa Club World Cup. Following his departure in 2023, he played for Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq and Dutch side Ajax in January 2024, before returning to the Premier League with Brentford last summer and making 32 top-flight appearances in the 2025-26 campaign.
Henderson rose through the youth ranks at Sunderland, making his Premier League debut as a substitute in a 5-0 defeat against Chelsea on November 1, 2008. On the international stage, he earned the first of his 91 England caps in 2010 and has featured in seven major international competitions, including the European Championship final in 2021 where the Three Lions suffered a penalty shootout defeat to Italy.
