Urban commuting often hits a roadblock the moment a rider arrives at their destination and needs a secure place to store their ride. The Augment 360 folding electric moped tackles this exact dilemma. Created by Finnish micromobility company Augment in collaboration with Munich-based designer Christian Zanzotti, the vehicle transforms from a road-capable machine into a compact unit that can glide into an elevator and rest flat against an indoor wall.
Throughout the frame, the engineering logic remains entirely exposed without bodywork concealing the mechanics. A low aluminum step-through tube leads into the steering column, while the tall seat structure houses both the removable battery and a compact storage compartment. Bright orange pivot joints visually communicate how the vehicle moves, as the wheels rotate inward around the central geometry to shrink the long wheelbase into a slim vertical silhouette.
The vertical folding approach addresses a growing design challenge in modern high-density housing, where strict building regulations and limited hallway space often ban traditional scooters. By shrinking the parked footprint to match a narrow storage cabinet, the vehicle offers practical security without requiring riders to abandon the comfort of a seated moped format.

Tipping the scales at 36 kilograms with a single battery, the 360 maintains a manageable weight class for a moped, though lifting it over long distances requires effort. Instead, it relies on rolling through corridors and tight corners, reserving heavy lifting only for doorsteps or short staircases. Custom 120/90-R10 tubeless tires with reinforced sidewalls absorb minor road bumps, while hydraulic disc brakes—featuring a four-piston front caliper with a 200-millimeter rotor and a two-piston rear caliper with an 180-millimeter disc—provide stopping power.
Augment provides two distinct variants: a 25 km/h City version and a 45 km/h L1e-B model. The faster variant utilizes a 1.2 kW continuous motor delivering up to 2.14 kW of peak power and 105 Nm of torque. A centered digital display sits right above the steering column, unlocking via an NFC card, while a companion smartphone app controls ride settings and activates an electronic wheel immobilizer if unauthorized movement is detected.
Housed beneath the seat, a 1,080 Wh lithium-ion battery pack can be easily detached and plugged into any standard wall outlet. Weighing roughly five kilograms, the battery delivers a real-world range of approximately 50 kilometers and recharges in four and a half hours, giving urban commuters the flexibility to either roll the entire moped indoors or simply carry the power pack upstairs.
