On August 3, 2026, the Ministry of Interior's Community Development Department announced preparations for its major annual showcase, the "Silpa Cheep Prateep Thai OTOP" fair for 2026. The event brings together quality OTOP products from more than 2,000 storefronts nationwide, while also allowing shoppers to apply the "Thai Chuai Thai Plus 60/40" privilege as a special discount during the purchase.
Deputy Interior Minister Phonphir Suwanachawi stated that this exhibition is expected to inject no less than 800 million baht into the economic system, channeling direct income down to material producers, artisans, and community networks throughout the country. Scheduled for August 8-16 at Challenger Halls 1-3, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, the initiative underscores the ministry's commitment to strengthening grassroots economies at the sub-district and village levels.
Phonphir further elaborated on the upgrading of services through the "OTOP One Stop Service" center, which provides comprehensive support including Fast Track standard certifications, packaging design, special low-interest financing, and multichannel marketing. The ministry aims to elevate OTOP across four key dimensions: production, marketing, technology-driven management, and financial management, turning the "Made in Thailand" label into a symbol of pride and quality.

Meanwhile, Mr. Siam Sirimongkol outlined the fair's objectives to honor and continue the royal initiatives of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother in preserving local Thai wisdom. The event will showcase valuable handicrafts from the SUPPORT Foundation alongside five categories of OTOP items, OTOP Taste, and a Studio Live Streaming area designed for online shoppers. The four major highlight zones introduced this year consist of:
- OTOP MuTelu: Blending local faith, beliefs, and regional amulets tailored for modern consumers.
- OTOP Craft & Design: Merging traditional craftsmanship with modern design, innovation, and contemporary lifestyles.
- OTOP Luxury: Elevating local jewelry and gems into a premium B2B showcase.
- OTOP Spirits Tasting: Showcasing unique local traditional beverages sourced nationwide.
The integration of modern trends—such as the OTOP MuTelu zone and dedicated live-streaming spaces—demonstrates a strategic shift by the government to engage younger demographics like Gen Z and Millennials, expanding market reach beyond traditional tourist bases and traditional retail channels.
