The Indonesian government extended a prestigious welcome to the Thai Prime Minister, with President Prabowo Subianto personally bidding farewell at the airport. This gesture highlights the strong mutual trust and close friendship between the leaders, ensuring swift and efficient coordination and cooperation moving forward.
The discussions successfully achieved their goals, encompassing the upgrade of strategic partnership, expansion of trade and investment opportunities, enhancement of security, and the advancement of Thailand's role in ASEAN alongside peaceful resolution support for Myanmar. The visit delivers tangible benefits across four key areas: expanded business markets, investment and employment, stronger transnational crime prevention, and regional stability.

The Prime Minister's Office spokesperson revealed that both sides agreed to accelerate the strategic partnership, connecting the strengths of Thailand and Indonesia as major economies and ASEAN founding members. Economic cooperation will expand into halal food, energy, tourism, green economy, and supply chains, targeting an increase in trade volume from nearly $20 billion to $23 billion.
"The government's goal is not merely to raise trade figures, but to ensure Thai entrepreneurs have expanded markets, farmers and producers sell more goods, tourism and service businesses gain more customers, and citizens secure stable jobs and income."
Furthermore, the Prime Minister attended the Indonesia–Thailand Business Forum and witnessed the exchange of four private-sector MOUs covering tourism, carbon markets, and economic cooperation. The nations also exchanged an Action Plan on Strategic Partnership and an education MOU to enhance workforce skills for the modern economy.
This visit holds deep strategic significance as Indonesia represents ASEAN's largest economy and population base. Pushing bilateral trade toward $23 billion while collaborating on green economies and carbon markets lays a robust foundation for regional supply chain resilience and long-term global competitiveness.
On security, both nations agreed to intensify joint efforts against transnational crime, including online scam operations, human trafficking, and narcotics. Additionally, the Prime Minister met with the ASEAN Secretary-General, proposing three guidelines: preserving ASEAN unity, building crisis resilience, and maintaining a people-centered approach, while reiterating support for the Five-Point Consensus in Myanmar.
