Wispr Flow has officially launched its meeting notetaker for Mac users, mirroring functionality similar to Granola. The notetaker utilizes system audio to transcribe meetings without the need for a bot to join the call. It also cleans up transcripts, creates action items, and enables users to query across their meeting history using artificial intelligence. Users are also equipped to view live transcripts and prompt AI to catch them up during ongoing discussions.
This official release follows earlier indicators found within the tool's updated Terms of Service. The company previously distributed an email to customers regarding modifications to its terms and privacy policy designed to accommodate related features. Upon investigating the refreshed terms, new sections were added specifically addressing the utilization of meeting data and the notetaker.

The updated terms elaborate that inputs for the Notetaker may encompass meeting data, system audio, participant information, metadata, speaker labels, transcripts, and other processed information. Meanwhile, outputs may feature AI-generated transcripts, summaries, action items, meeting insights, speaker attribution, and additional meeting-related content.
Wispr Flow's expansion into meeting note-taking marks a strategic evolution from a pure dictation tool into comprehensive workflow automation. By capturing rich contextual data directly from meetings, the AI gains deeper insight into user communication patterns, positioning the company to automate tasks well beyond simple voice-to-text formatting.
By entering this space, the startup positions itself in direct competition with established meeting notetakers such as Granola, Fireflies, Read AI, Otter, and Fathom. Co-founder Tanay Kothari had previously discussed aspirations of building an AI assistant during interviews. To date, Wispr Flow has successfully raised more than 81 million dollars, securing a 700 million dollar valuation in its most recent funding round, with Bloomberg reporting in May that talks for a potential 2 billion dollar valuation round were underway. Wispr Flow did not respond to requests for further comment.
