Salah set to sign for Turkish club Trabzonspor
The Egypt captain was mobbed by fans upon his arrival in Turkey ahead of his move to Trabzonspor.

Turkish club Trabzonspor are set to confirm the signing of Mohamed Salah as the Egypt captain was mobbed by fans on his arrival in Turkey to finalize his much-anticipated transfer.
Hundreds of fans gathered outside Ataturk Airport in Istanbul on Wednesday as Salah emerged wearing Trabzonspor colours before engaging with the excited crowd who had come out to catch a glimpse of the superstar.
The 34-year-old forward left Liverpool at the end of last season after nine successful years on Merseyside, scoring 257 goals in total. He had previously signed a reported 400,000-pounds-a-week contract in April 2025, making him the highest earner in the club's history before his departure.

It remains unclear what Salah will earn at Trabzonspor, but as he is a free agent, the Super Lig club have been able to commit a larger portion of their budget directly towards his wages after a potential deal with Besiktas fell through due to financial reasons.

Salah, who boasts 50 Champions League goals to his name, will play European football with Trabzonspor next campaign after they finished third in the league table, eight points behind champions Galatasaray. If they fail to progress through the Europa League play-offs, they will drop down to the Conference League.
Nicknamed the Black Sea Storm, Trabzonspor are one of only six teams to have won the Turkish Super Lig and have captured seven league titles historically. Securing Salah's signature marks the biggest transfer in the club's history, adding him to a squad that features loanee goalkeeper Andre Onana from Manchester United.
