The tech industry is seeing another leadership shift as Nikita Bier, the head of product at X, has announced his departure from the core executive role. He shared an update stating that it is time to pass the torch and transition back to his natural state as a regular poster on the platform.
This announcement comes just over a month after he marked his one-year anniversary at the company and follows closely behind the period when Elon Musk's combined SpaceX, X, and xAI entities went public. Throughout his tenure, Bier noted that nearly every aspect of the platform has undergone a complete rebuild under his supervision.

Looking ahead, the company has lined up a new generation of leaders to steer the product forward:
- Benji Taylor will lead design operations.
- Jonah Katz will take charge of the iOS development team.
- Mridul Singhai will head up the core product team.

Bier also highlighted the long-awaited launch of X Money, a feature Elon Musk previously anticipated releasing by the end of 2024. Bier's departure underscores the fast-paced and dynamic environment at X under Elon Musk's ownership. Before joining the platform, Bier co-founded popular startups including tbh, which was acquired by Meta, and Gas, which was acquired by Discord. He originally stepped into the product lead role just days prior to former CEO Linda Yaccarino's departure, making him a prominent public face for the company during a turbulent transformation period.
