Brazil winger Vinicius Jr has ended uncertainty surrounding his future by agreeing a brand new six-year contract with Real Madrid, securing his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu until June 30, 2032.
The 26-year-old had entered the final 12 months of his previous deal and recently drew strong interest from Premier League side Arsenal. Contract discussions between the player's representatives and the club had stalled for 18 months until Real Madrid tabled a revised offer on Wednesday, which was well-received by the player.

Expressing his commitment on Instagram, Vinicius wrote: "Eight years at the Bernabeu are too short... Six more years, and then forever." In an official statement, Real Madrid praised the forward, noting that he "has become one of the most important players in one of the most successful periods in our history."
Vinicius originally joined Real Madrid from Brazilian club Flamengo in 2018 and signed his previous extension three years ago. He recently reported back to the club on Monday for his first pre-season training session and medical assessments following his World Cup campaign with Brazil.
Securing Vinicius on a long-term deal is a massive statement of intent for Real Madrid as they shape their squad under new head coach Jose Mourinho. Amid a busy summer transfer window that has seen several high-profile arrivals, keeping their talismanic winger prevents a major vacuum in their attacking unit.

The announcement of Vinicius' extension coincided with Real Madrid confirming the acquisition of Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig for up to £120m (140m euros). Diomande becomes the club's sixth summer signing under Jose Mourinho, following Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries, Marc Cucurella, and Carlos Espi, while the club also maintains interest in Manchester City midfielder Rodri.
