Delta Air Lines is working to build momentum for its upcoming Riyadh service by introducing a rare and highly discounted award sale for members of its loyalty program, targeting both leisure and business flyers.
Ahead of the October 23 launch of Delta's Atlanta-Riyadh route, the airline is offering one-way basic economy redemptions starting at just 15,000 miles on select travel dates. According to the Points Guy awards calculator, this redemption translates to roughly $220 in cash value, which includes an $8 fee.

Furthermore, customers who hold one of Delta's co-branded credit cards enjoy an additional discount, dropping the required redemption to 12,700 miles. This equates to approximately $187 in cash value, inclusive of fees, presenting a remarkably low price point for a grueling 13-hour international flight.
Deploying such deep loyalty discounts is a calculated strategy by network carriers to stimulate early bookings and overcome initial market hesitation, especially in a Middle Eastern corridor where Western airlines have historically faced profitability hurdles.
