Manchester City's pre-season tour in Seoul, South Korea, has brought significant contract news as winger Jeremy Doku prepares to commit his future to the club by signing an extension until 2031, according to sources told to BBC Sport, with an official announcement anticipated next week.
Doku transferred to City from Rennes for £55.4m in 2023. Last season, the 24-year-old Belgium international made 48 appearances and scored 8 goals, helping the squad secure both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup during Pep Guardiola's final campaign in charge. He is now the fourth City player to agree new terms this summer, following Phil Foden, Josko Gvardiol, and Abdukodir Khusanov.
Meanwhile, midfielder Nico Gonzalez, who arrived from Porto for £50m last January, has faced challenges locking down a regular spot. The 24-year-old featured 41 times across all competitions last term, including a crucial winner in the FA Cup semi-final against Southampton, but nevertheless dismissed speculation that City might offload him after just 19 months.

Heading toward mid-August, City have secured one major first-team arrival in Elliot Anderson. The England international joined from Nottingham Forest for a club-record £116m, acting as a replacement for Bernardo Silva, who departed for Real Madrid. Teenage winger Jeremy Monga has also joined from Leicester, alongside new arrivals Pierce Charles and Mathys Detourbet heading out on loan.
Pre-season tours in locations like South Korea serve a dual purpose for elite Premier League clubs: expanding global brand presence and allowing club hierarchy, including director of football Hugo Viana and chief executive Ferran Soriano, to align directly with new manager Enzo Maresca.
