Mesh, the relationship management application formerly known as Clay and developed by Automattic, has officially arrived on Android devices. The company has tailored the application to integrate seamlessly with essential platform features such as split-screen multitasking and pop-up views, enabling users to check contact details while working inside other apps like email or messaging clients.
Beyond window management, the Android release brings keyboard shortcut support for tablets and foldable devices, in-app search capabilities, and home screen widgets featuring Material You dynamic colors that match the device's wallpaper. The app also supports real-time synchronization across devices and is rolling out as a free download on Google Play with in-app purchases for higher tiers.
Looking ahead, Automattic has broader plans to tie Mesh more closely with Beeper, its all-in-one messaging application. The two products already interoperate to a degree, allowing users to draft messages through Beeper or click deep links to view a Mesh profile. Over time, the company intends to introduce additional AI tools designed to enhance productivity when managing personal relationships.

Automattic's expansion of Mesh to Android alongside its interoperability with Beeper highlights a strategic effort to build a unified ecosystem for communication and contact management. By uniting these tools, the company aims to streamline professional and personal workflows for mobile power users.
"The majority of Mesh's customers, or around 70%, are using the app for some type of business purpose. Mesh's sweet spot is executives running bigger teams or those who have a tight network to stay in touch with."
Matthew Achariam, Mesh Co-founder
At present, Mesh's Nexus AI feature is available in early access, giving users a conversational way to navigate their network. Users can query the system to find out who they know at a specific company, who resides in a particular city, or who possesses expertise in a distinct topic. Furthermore, the team is experimenting with voice-based hands-free navigation and upgraded business card scanning tools.
Regarding data privacy, the company emphasizes that personal information stored within Mesh is never shared or utilized for ad targeting, as the product relies on a subscription business model. The platform is free for up to 1,000 contacts, with higher tiers unlocking unlimited contacts and additional advanced features.
