Polling stations have officially opened in Clacton-on-Sea, starting from 07:00 BST, as an unprecedented number of candidates compete to secure the town's vacant Member of Parliament seat in this notable British electoral event.
A total electorate of 79,785 registered voters now have the opportunity to cast their ballots across 51 polling stations. These stations cover the main resort area of Clacton along with surrounding towns such as Jaywick, Frinton, and Walton-on-the-Naze, while also extending to rural villages including St Osyth, Weeley, and Great Bentley.
