The Thai Prime Minister has reaffirmed the government's clear stance that security cooperation between Thailand and the United States serves as a foundational pillar of their long-standing bilateral relationship. The administration holds no policy to use defense collaboration as a condition or bargaining chip during trade negotiations. Instead, trade discussions and security matters are strictly maintained on separate tracks, driven by mutual benefits and handled through independent bilateral mechanisms.
Addressing military cooperation, the Thai leader highlighted the remarkable 193-year history of alliance between the two nations, emphasizing the continuous commitment to strategic partnership. This enduring relationship not only benefits both populations but also plays an indispensable role in maintaining regional peace, security, and stability. Both sides agreed to continuously strengthen the alliance to adapt to shifting international dynamics and effectively counter emerging security threats.

The government spokesperson noted that both delegations agreed to elevate security cooperation to new heights. The primary focus centers on building robust capabilities against modern security threats, modernizing armed forces, and expanding cooperation within the defense industry sector.
Regarding transnational crime prevention, the Prime Minister recalled discussions held last July with Mr. Kash Patel, Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), focusing heavily on strengthening law enforcement cooperation to tackle regional security threats.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister addressed the situation along the Thailand-Cambodia border, expressing appreciation to President Donald Trump for his constructive role in helping defuse tensions. The Thai leader reiterated the nation's steadfast commitment to international law, good neighborly principles, peaceful resolution through bilateral frameworks, and strict adherence to the Kuala Lumpur Accords (KL Accords) to secure lasting peace and stability.
On economic matters, the Prime Minister underscored Thailand's determination to finalize negotiations on the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade between Thailand and the United States at the earliest possible opportunity, fostering mutual prosperity for citizens of both nations.
