Gunther Werks has pushed its vision of the Porsche 911 further into the racing realm with the GXR-Evo, unveiled at Monterey Car Week as the brand's fastest naturally aspirated vehicle to date with a production run restricted to just 15 units. While the proportions instantly recall the classic 993, the rear profile undergoes a dramatic transformation with the removal of the rear window, replaced by an integrated shark-fin element that sharply terminates the roofline.
The exterior panels are molded entirely from carbon fiber, bringing the dry weight down to 2,386 pounds—shaving 210 pounds off the standard Coupe. Up front, a prominent splitter collaborates with fender vents to evacuate air away from the wheels, while a massive rear wing and carbon-fiber quarter windows channel vital airflow directly toward the engine bay.

Tucked behind the rear axle is a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine co-developed with Rothsport Racing, generating 455 horsepower and revving up to nearly 9,000 rpm. Power is managed through a traditional six-speed manual gearbox, retaining a mechanical engagement that contrasts sharply with the ultra-modern aerodynamic bodywork.
By retaining an air-cooled engine layout and a manual transmission while implementing cutting-edge composite aerodynamics, Gunther Werks bridges the gap between old-school mechanical soul and modern track engineering. This friction creates a driving experience focused purely on mechanical feedback rather than digital filtering.
Inside, the cabin strips away luxury in favor of track functionality, featuring carbon-Kevlar racing seats, an eight-point roll cage, a six-point harness, and a configurable Motec display paired with a quick-release steering wheel and a helmet cooling system. Furthermore, all 15 owners will receive a bespoke racing simulator built by MYSIM, custom-engineered to match the exact dynamics of their individual real-world vehicle for practice before hitting the asphalt.
