The National Defence College (NDC) of Thailand has officially announced the list of participants selected for the National Defence Course Class 69. The upcoming academic year brings together high-ranking figures from various sectors, including the armed forces, police, senior civil service, academia, and leading private enterprises in Thailand to study strategic management and national security.
The roster for NDC Class 69 comprises 109 officers from the three branches of the Thai armed forces, 13 police officers, and 5 foreign military officers representing Indonesia, China, Myanmar, Malaysia, and India. Notably, there are no military participants from Cambodia, as Phnom Penh has ceased sending officers to the program since 2025, allowing the college to rotate slots to friendly nations such as Myanmar, which has sent representatives this year.

Within the Royal Thai Army, several key commanders and high-ranking officers have been selected, such as Maj. Gen. Inthanon Rattanakan, Deputy Commander of the Special Warfare Command; Maj. Gen. Theppitak Nimit, Deputy Commander of the 1st Army Area; and Maj. Gen. Benjapol Dechatwong na Ayutthaya, Commander of the 2nd Infantry Division, Queen's Guard. Meanwhile, Air Chief Marshal Sekson Kantha, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Air Force, has dispatched a younger generation of wing commanders to sharpen their strategic insight, including Air Vice Marshal Krisana Piemsri, former commander of Wing 1 in Nakhon Ratchasima.
The National Defence College program is widely regarded as Thailand's premier institution for high-level security and leadership training. By bringing together military elite, senior bureaucrats, and private sector tycoons, the curriculum fosters cross-sector networking and holistic policy coordination crucial for navigating modern geopolitical and economic challenges in Thailand.
On the civilian and academic front, prominent figures include Mr. Rapeepat Chandrasrivongs, Director-General of the Department of Agriculture, who is slated to become the new Permanent Secretary for Agriculture on October 1st; Assoc. Prof. Komsan Maleesee, President of King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang; and Mr. Narin Phao-vanich, Governor of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand.
The corporate and independent sectors are equally well-represented by notable executives, including Mr. Manop Sanguanboot, Chief Executive Officer of SCB X Public Company Limited; Mr. Korakrit Chirathivat, President of Summit Auto Body Industry Co., Ltd.; Ms. Komol Chiaravanont, Senior Advisor to the Chairman of the Executive Committee at Chia Tai Company Limited; and Mr. Phimuk Simaroj, Executive Chairman of Susco Public Company Limited.
