Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has publicly addressed the rationale behind appointing Chanthanon to the position of Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Energy, stating that the ministry's current challenges extend far beyond electricity, oil, gas, or energy funds, requiring collaboration across agriculture, industry, aviation, environmental sectors, and public income generation.
Choosing an executive who deeply understands the upstream agricultural raw material supply chain aligns directly with the nation's strategic direction and government policies. Chanthanon brings a strong background from the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, possessing expertise in crop production systems, agricultural supply chains, and market mechanisms.
"The mandate of the Ministry of Energy today is not limited to electricity, oil, gas, or energy funds, but must integrate agriculture, industry, aviation, the environment, and public income. Appointing a permanent secretary-level administrator who understands agricultural raw materials is a choice consistent with the country's direction and government policy."

Looking ahead, the global aviation industry will see an increased demand for Bio Jet fuel in compliance with international carbon reduction standards, which requires substantial quantities of biological raw materials.
The Prime Minister concluded that this leadership appointment was driven strictly by capability and job suitability rather than political motives, as the modern energy ministry requires executives who understand both routine operations and the government's new mandate to connect clean energy with agriculture and public welfare.
"Both presently and in the future, energy does not start merely at refineries or power plants, but begins in farming fields, palm plantations, sugarcane fields, and cassava fields.
