Arsenal have successfully reached an agreement worth in excess of £50 million to secure the signature of Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa. The England international center-back is now lined up to undergo his medical tests before officially finalizing his transfer to Emirates Stadium.
Reports from BBC Sport previously indicated last week that the Gunners had re-opened discussions with Aston Villa regarding Konsa, though initial talks fell short of an agreement. This led Arsenal to briefly pivot their attention toward Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah before refocusing efforts on Konsa and ultimately sealing the deal.

The 28-year-old defender originally joined the Villans back in July 2019, accumulating a total of 286 appearances over the past seven seasons. Throughout the previous campaign, he featured 48 times across all competitions, netting two goals and providing one assist to help Unai Emery's squad lift the Europa League trophy and secure a fourth-place finish in the Premier League for Champions League qualification.
Konsa has yet to feature in any of Aston Villa's pre-season fixtures, which included a 2-1 defeat against Paris St-Germain in the Uefa Super Cup. Boss Unai Emery granted him a four-week break following his heavy involvement in England's World Cup campaign, where the Three Lions finished in third place.
