ISOC Inspects Isan Region to Drive Security and Local Development

The Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) has continued its regional policy implementation in northeastern Thailand. Between August 17 and 19, 2026, Lieutenant General Thanathip Sawangsaeng, Director of the Mass Relations and Public Information Office at ISOC, led a delegation to Udon Thani and Sakon Nakhon provinces. The visit aimed to monitor mass relations operations, evaluate security development efforts at the grassroots level, and directly address grievances raised by local community networks and regional authorities.

The inspection commenced on August 17, 2026, at ISOC Region 2 Sub-Section 1 in Udon Thani Province, where Colonel จักรพงษ์ โพธิ์นาแค, Deputy Director, along with local officials, welcomed the delegation and presented a mission briefing. ISOC Region 2 Sub-Section 1 oversees internal security planning and anti-narcotics efforts along borders. The unit has deployed 16 mass relations development teams across border areas in five provinces: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nakhon Phanom, and Mukdahan, strengthening community resilience and intelligence gathering.

Meanwhile, the Udon Thani ISOC office reported that since October 1, 2025, officials have monitored 11 active local groups addressing environmental concerns, potash mining, waste management, agricultural disputes, and the Mekong River basin network. Authorities have maintained continuous dialogue with these groups to ensure fair resolutions and prevent conflict. Additional initiatives include moral community building projects, self-defense village volunteers, and assistance for vulnerable residents.
