This performance formula was recently put to the test by Peter Nelson of The Verge in the 2027 Audi S6 Sportback E-tron. Blurring the lines between a traditional sedan and a wagon through its sloping rear profile, the vehicle bypasses a bulky Quattro all-wheel-drive system in favor of a motor on each axle, a central high-capacity battery, massive power output, and robust chassis tuning, all starting at a base price of $80,895.

Equipped with an 800V architecture and a 100kWh battery (94.4kWh net), the 2027 Audi S6 Sportback E-tron generates 543 horsepower primarily from its rear motor. This setup propels the EV from zero to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds. According to Audi, the vehicle can charge from 10 to 80 percent in as little as 21 minutes, or require 11.5 hours when plugged into a 240V level 2 setup delivering 9.6kW.
Peak range is officially rated at 326 miles. During real-world testing in the Los Angeles area featuring an average speed of 19 mph alongside highway and mountain driving, the reviewer covered 295 miles at an average of 2.4 miles per kWh. On the charging front, the S6 hit its 270kW peak charging rate at a local Electrify America station and features three adjustable levels of regenerative braking, including smooth one-pedal driving via B mode.
