Google's new HiLight notification LED feature on the Pixel 11 Pro arrives with severe limitations straight out of the box. By default, the light is restricted to glowing in only two scenarios: when the phone faces downward during interactions with Gemini, or when receiving a phone call from a favorite contact. Furthermore, the system restricts the hardware to displaying just one of five predefined colors.
Recognizing this missed opportunity, developers have stepped in to provide a solution that Google omitted. An X user named Dhananjay_Tech has built an application called HiLight Studio, granting users virtually complete control over the HiLight LED array. Users can program the light to pulse in a rainbow pattern for specific keyword mentions on Slack, or spin in a green wave upon receiving a standard text message.

The application also offers granular controls over timing per cycle, brightness, intensity, and saturation. Unlike official software parameters, individuals can select any preferred color through eight preselected options or a traditional color slider. HiLight Studio even supports importing and exporting presets, making it convenient to share configurations with friends.
