During the visit, Minister Suksornruy delivered three key updates from the National Village and Urban Community Fund Office to local residents and committee members:
- Update 1 - Matching Interest Scheme: The government approved over 4.4 billion baht to reduce loan interest burdens for members across 63,125 funds nationwide. In Kamalasai, 30 funds have applied while 81 are urged to submit requests promptly.
- Update 2 - Second Million Fund Recovery: Utilizing 3.4 billion baht from 2012 delayed budgets to provide one million baht injections to dormant or "red funds" by 2026. Kamalasai has successfully received this for all 111 funds.
- Update 3 - SML Plus Project: The main board approved 349 funds worth over 99.5 million baht, with a sub-committee endorsing another 1,241 funds worth over 329 million baht for the second round.
Additionally, the government introduced utility relief measures by capping electricity rates for the first 200 units at 3 baht per unit and separating public lighting costs from household bills to ease living expenses.
This targeted intervention in village funds highlights the government's strategy to inject liquidity directly into the grassroots economy. Addressing red funds and reducing interest rates are crucial steps toward alleviating household debt and empowering local farmers.
Ms. Bunyapa Nachaiviang Punnanittha, MP for Kalasin Constituency 5, expressed gratitude to the government on behalf of local residents, voicing confidence that these initiatives will foster community development and improve quality of life.
