On August 23, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul convened an urgent security meeting at Military Air Terminal 2, Wing 6 (Don Mueang), to monitor and receive reports regarding multiple security incidents that occurred across the three southern border provinces on the night of August 22.
Key figures from national security agencies and administrative departments attended the briefing in person, including:
- General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Minister of Defense
- General Pana Klaewplodtuk, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army
- General Chaiyapruk Duangprapat, Chief of Staff of the Royal Thai Army and Secretary-General of ISOC
- Mr. Attasith Samphanrat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior

During the briefing, Lieutenant General Naratip Phonok, Commander of the Fourth Army Region, made a phone call to directly brief the Prime Minister on the ground situation. In response, the Prime Minister emphasized the urgent need to look after citizens who sustained injuries from the incidents and ordered the strict enforcement of the law.
This high-level emergency security meeting highlights the government's swift response mechanism to internal security challenges in Thailand's southernmost provinces. Effective coordination between civilian administration, the Ministry of Defense, and the military is critical for maintaining stability and ensuring public safety in the region.
The urgent security session lasted for more than one hour. Following the meeting, the Prime Minister departed on a flight at 09:35 AM to travel to Nan province for official duties monitoring local flood situations.
