On August 23, 2026, at 07.40 AM at Wing 6 Military Air Terminal in Don Mueang, Narucha Khosasivilai, Director-General of the Department of Administration, addressed the security situation in Thailand's three southern border provinces following a series of simultaneous explosions on the night of August 22. He stated that authorities were informed immediately and urgently instructed all security personnel in Yala and surrounding areas to elevate their preparedness to the highest level.
Narucha emphasized that strict guidelines have been issued to reinforce security measures and protect government bases. Special emphasis was placed on tambon protection units to remain extremely vigilant. Furthermore, public warnings were issued instructing residents in the affected areas to stay indoors starting the previous night to ensure personal safety.
