- Huebloom grew organically to 4,184 pages without an initial grand plan.
- A non-developer utilized AI to assist with coding and content generation across the site.
- The workflow shifted from executing isolated tasks to establishing continuous feedback loops.
- AI expanded technical boundaries, but human taste and vision remained essential.
Building a massive multi-thousand-page website is typically reserved for experienced engineering teams. However, Huebloom grew organically over time, eventually reaching a dataset of 4,184 unique page records. The project started small, with one collection inspiring the next, leading to small tools that paved the way for subsequent sections without any grand initial blueprint.
In the early stages, the creator relied on AI for direct requests—generating a page, an image, copy, or a minor feature. This approach worked smoothly while the site remained compact. Yet, as the project scaled, generating output ceased to be the primary bottleneck. The harder challenge was determining whether that output genuinely belonged on the platform.
This realization fundamentally transformed the workflow. Instead of endlessly hunting for the perfect prompt, the focus shifted toward defining the exact purpose of each page, how it integrated into the broader site structure, and establishing clear benchmarks for publication readiness. AI proved vastly more effective once it stopped being used as a substitute for human decision-making.

"I did not start Huebloom with a plan to build a 4,000-page website. It grew slowly."
When designing the homepage to achieve a tactile, physical paper quality, the project incorporated Three.js. While AI assisted in navigating the code, technical functionality did not automatically equate to the correct aesthetic feel. Some iterations felt overly dramatic while others lacked life. Code adjustments happened rapidly, but defining the authentic identity of Huebloom remained a purely human choice.
This development style highlights that artificial intelligence functions best as a capability amplifier rather than an autonomous director. As the marginal cost of generating code and assets approaches zero, human taste, curation, and structural vision emerge as the most critical differentiators in modern digital creation.
Moving away from treating AI as a fast task-completer—which often created more review work and repetitive fixes—the creator transitioned toward workflow loops. By incorporating reviews, handling failures, and baking lessons directly into ongoing processes, inspecting and improving the expansive site became significantly more manageable over time.
