Footage began circulating across social media platforms on Sunday, appearing to depict Carse wearing handcuffs while being led away from a local venue by a group of four police officers. The Durham-based fast bowler was accompanied by teammate Matthew Potts at the time, although records confirm he was off-duty and not representing England on official team business when the incident took place.

Carse was due to link up with the national squad on Monday ahead of the second Test match against Pakistan scheduled for this week. In response to the circulating reports, the governing body released a formal statement acknowledging that they are actively looking into the matter to determine the full sequence of events.
