Following a wave of coordinated security incidents across the southern border provinces, Sanphet traveled immediately to Pattani province after completing duties in Krabi. The visit aimed to assess the extent of the damage firsthand and offer encouragement to officials and local residents following multiple simultaneous incidents that began on the evening of August 22, causing widespread destruction to public and private properties.
The first stop was the Bang Khao Subdistrict Administrative Organization (OrBorTor) in Nong Chik district, where perpetrators had forced entry and set fire to official vehicles parked inside the garage. Two vehicles, a fire truck and a garbage truck vital for local public services, were heavily damaged. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, while authorities are actively gathering evidence to track down the culprits.

Sanphet and his delegation then proceeded to the 7-Eleven store in Ban Bang Pu, Yaring district, another site targeted on the same night. Assailants took control of the premises, forced employees and customers to evacuate, and detonated explosives accompanied by arson. The building and internal inventory sustained severe damage. Sanphet inspected the wreckage, listened to briefings from local security personnel, and met with affected residents to provide moral support.
According to the Forward Section of the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Region 4 summary at midnight, a total of 51 incidents occurred across 21 districts in Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat provinces. These included bombings, arson attacks on government offices, destruction of CCTV cameras, communication systems, utilities, and the burning of state and private assets, demonstrating that the impact extended far beyond government offices into everyday community life and local businesses.

During this inspection, Sanphet instructed the Governor of Pattani province to systematically survey and compile all damages, covering state assets, local administrative organizations, and elements disrupting public services. This comprehensive report will formulate the budget framework needed to request financial support from the Prime Minister and the government for swift repairs, rehabilitation, and compensation.
The coordinated multi-point security incidents in Thailand's southern border provinces present a critical challenge to regional safety management and state administration.
