At 1.30 PM on August 24, Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul received H.E. Mr. Abdulaziz Mohammed K. A. Al-Sada, the newly appointed Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Thailand, during a courtesy call at the Ivory Room on the second floor of the Thai Ku Fah Building, Government House.
During the discussion, the Prime Minister extended a warm welcome and congratulated the Qatari Ambassador on assuming his new diplomatic role. He reaffirmed Thailand's readiness to work closely with Qatar to deepen bilateral relations and foster concrete cooperation across multiple sectors.
The Qatari Ambassador conveyed the Qatari Prime Minister's strong interest in paying an official visit to Thailand in the near future. He also expressed congratulations on Thailand hosting the upcoming IMF meetings, confirming that Qatar will send high-level representatives, including the Minister of Finance and the Governor of the Central Bank, to attend the event.

High-level diplomatic exchanges and participation in major global financial summits like the IMF meetings serve as vital strategic opportunities for Thailand to attract Middle Eastern investments, particularly from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations that prioritize food and energy security.
Regarding tourism, the Qatari Ambassador highlighted Thailand's strong appeal as a premier destination for Qatari travelers, particularly in medical tourism and health-related services. In response, the Prime Minister extended an invitation for more Qatari citizens to visit Thailand and utilize its medical facilities, assuring that the Thai government will provide full facilitation.
Both sides also recognized mutual opportunities to advance cooperation in energy security and food supply chains. Qatar remains a crucial energy partner for Thailand, while Thailand stands ready to act as a reliable partner in supporting food security and enhancing supply chain resilience.
