Rather than turning it down due to unfamiliarity, he designed a solution centered around the actual project requirements.
That experience reinforced a lifelong philosophy: you do not need to know everything before you start, and you should not fall in love with the tool—fall in love with solving the problem. For instance, when a client requested an expensive scaling feature, he opted for a much cheaper, third-party approach that met the core requirement and scaled across offices efficiently.
Modern AI automation and agentic workflows are not designed to entirely replace human oversight, but rather to establish effective human-in-the-loop systems. By delegating repetitive tasks to AI while retaining human decision-making for critical junctures, businesses can achieve sustainable efficiency and cost reduction.
He illustrates his process optimization methodology through the transformation of operational workflows:
- Old workflow: Customer -> Form -> Human checks -> Human sends payment link -> Customer pays -> Human checks payment -> Human sends receipt -> Human updates CRM
- New workflow: Customer -> System -> Payment Link -> Payment Verification -> Receipt -> CRM Update, with human-in-the-loop intervention for important decisions.
