The government is moving forward with major service and tourism stimulus measures, scaling up the targets of the Thai Tiew Thai Plus project to benefit a broader public and rehabilitate operators affected by energy cost pressures.
The updates were revealed by Surasak, who detailed the revision of the project's framework and slot allocation. From the initial projection of 500,000 slots requiring a 1.75 billion baht budget, the allocation has doubled to 1,000,000 slots to maximize economic circulation in a single rollout.
The funding for this expanded project will be drawn from the emergency decree on borrowing, totaling 3.5 billion baht proportional to the increased quota. A key condition of the program allows a single person to register for up to 5 slots, driving actual travel and spending in target destinations.
Utilizing borrowing decree mechanisms for such initiatives reflects government efforts to inject liquidity directly into grassroots economies and small tourism operators struggling with energy overheads. Expanding to 1 million slots upfront prevents registration bottlenecks and facilitates advanced travel planning during the late-year high season.
Furthermore, Surasak addressed the tourism rehabilitation plan for Nan province following recent flooding. He noted that the Prime Minister stressed the urgency of implementing promotional activities in the area, as the end of the rainy season transitions into winter, offering ideal weather conditions for visitors.

On the active implementation front, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is expediting special campaigns to draw travelers back to Nan province and the broader northern region, aiming to restore local incomes and community businesses rapidly.
