Tottenham sign Savinho from Manchester City in £75m deal

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Brazil international winger Savinho from Manchester City for an initial fee of £75 million. The 22-year-old has committed his future to the north London club by putting pen to paper on a long-term contract under manager Roberto de Zerbi, with the total package potentially rising by an additional £10 million in performance add-ons.

The move has been more than a full year in the making, as Spurs previously attempted and failed to secure his services during the transfer window last summer. Although Savinho opted to remain at the Etihad Stadium following that setback, his playing time dwindled significantly under Pep Guardiola last term, resulting in just seven Premier League starts across the campaign.

Reflecting on his decision to switch clubs, Savinho described the transfer as a wonderful opportunity at a brilliant club led by one of the world's best managers. He noted that a direct conversation with the head coach convinced him immediately, as the boss outlined plans to help him reach the highest tier of the sport.

Savinho originally arrived at City from French outfit Troyes in a £30.8 million deal back in 2024, making a total of 84 appearances while contributing seven goals and 16 assists. His arrival at Tottenham follows a busy summer window that also brought in Mateus Fernandes from West Ham, Sandro Tonali from Newcastle, and Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton, taking their combined spending to £312 million alongside free transfers for Marcos Senesi, Andrew Robertson, and Martin Dubravka.
