The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has put its Creator-Powered Tourism strategy into action by teaming up with TikTok Thailand for the "TikTok LIVE Community Fest 2026" held in Bangkok on August 25, 2026. The major event brought together more than 300 LIVE creators from Southeast Asia, the Caucasus, and Central Asia to explore the historic Song Wat riverside neighborhood and generate travel inspiration for global audiences.
The programme featured a Team Rally where creators from countries including Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Singapore navigated the century-old trading district. Participants experienced local heritage architecture, traditional shophouses, and local cuisine, while taking tuk-tuk rides through the historic streets to capture authentic moments for their followers abroad.

Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, stated, "Through our partnership with TikTok Thailand, TAT is putting Creator-Powered Tourism into action by connecting authentic experiences in Thailand with audiences around the world. Travel decisions increasingly begin with what people watch, trust and share online. When creators experience Thailand first-hand and tell those stories through their own perspectives, they can turn discovery into inspiration and inspiration into a desire to travel."
This initiative highlights TAT's ongoing pivot toward digital-first tourism marketing, leveraging trusted creator voices rather than traditional advertising. By highlighting cultural hubs like Song Wat, the campaign successfully promotes sustainable urban tourism and introduces international visitors to authentic local communities beyond mainstream tourist attractions.
Held under the theme "Be Part of the Win," the festival celebrated creator achievements and community growth. Creator teams competed for Thailand travel packages worth more than 300,000 Baht in total. The winners were announced during the Victory Celebration Gala at TRUE ICON HALL, ICONSIAM, which featured fan meet-and-greets, regional award presentations, and live performances by artists and creators.
The strategic partnership between TAT and TikTok reinforces how first-hand destination experiences can translate directly into international travel intent. By empowering trusted creators to share authentic perspectives of Thailand, the tourism board continues to expand destination storytelling across key global markets.
