The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced a strategic partnership with London-based Private Luxury Events to host Ultra Thailand 2027, an exclusive luxury travel gathering scheduled for June 20–24, 2027, at the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River. Marking Ultra’s debut in Southeast Asia, the invitation-only event will connect Thailand's tourism sector with an influential international network serving the global community of ultra-high-net-worth travellers.
Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, stated that Ultra Thailand 2027 places the country into one of the world's most influential ultra-luxury travel networks. Ultra is widely recognized as one of the most exclusive gatherings in luxury travel, operating strictly on an invitation-only basis. Its community features top-tier buyers such as family offices, executive assistants, and celebrity agents representing discerning clients. The event has sold out every year since its inception, featuring elite community members including AMAN, Orient Express, Windows to Japan, The Datai, Domaine Louise, and Tangile Malamala Collection.
"Bangkok is entering an exciting period of growth at the very top end of luxury travel. The expansion of private wealth, continued investment from leading global hospitality brands and Thailand’s focus on high-value tourism make this an incredibly timely moment for Ultra to come to the destination."
Christy Kuplic, Managing Director of Private Luxury Events
Hosting Ultra's Southeast Asian debut in Bangkok highlights Thailand's readiness to transform into a premier hub for quality-led tourism. Aligned with the Healing is the New Luxury communication direction, this initiative emphasizes personalized wellness and meaningful travel, effectively positioning the kingdom to capture high-value tourism segments and sustainable economic growth.
The announcement arrives as Bangkok's global wealth prominence rises, with the city's ultra-high-net-worth population projected to grow by over 50% by 2030. Furthermore, Knight Frank forecasts a 26% increase in Thailand's broader ultra-wealthy population between 2026 and 2031. Bangkok continues to draw major international hospitality investments, including Aman Nai Lert Bangkok and The Langham's restoration of the historic Custom House.
Thailand's luxury appeal is further enhanced by nam jai, the Thai spirit of generosity and warmth. Combined with wellness, gastronomy, and private travel, this offers international visitors a rich expression of luxury rooted in Thai identity. Christy Kuplic, Managing Director of Private Luxury Events, noted that Bangkok is entering an exciting growth phase at the top end of luxury travel, making this a timely moment for Ultra's arrival.
