Following an unexpected appearance on a wall-mounting compatibility chart on Sony's website back in June, the company has officially announced the Sony Bravia 6 OLED TV. The new model sits below its existing premium OLED offerings, the Bravia 8 and Bravia 8 II, as well as the high-end Bravia 9 II and Bravia 7 II RGB LED TVs.
The arrival of the Bravia 6 OLED represents a strategic push by Sony into the mid-range television market. It has been priced and specced directly to compete against rival models such as the LG C6 OLED and the Samsung S90H QD-OLED, giving consumers a more affordable gateway into Sony's OLED ecosystem.
In terms of specifications, the Bravia 6 OLED features a 120Hz panel and runs on Google TV integrated with Gemini. It supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X. Notably, the inclusion of four HDMI 2.1 inputs suggests it may utilize a MediaTek Pentonic 800 system-on-chip, although Sony has declined to officially confirm this hardware detail.

Equipping a mid-range OLED with four full HDMI 2.1 ports is a significant move for Sony, as this high-bandwidth connectivity has traditionally been restricted to flagship models. This makes the Bravia 6 a compelling option for next-generation console gamers who require multiple 4K/120Hz inputs without resorting to external switchers.
Compared to Sony's higher-end OLED displays, the Bravia 6 comes with a completely redesigned remote control. Streaming service buttons have been relocated to the top rather than the bottom, featuring a larger, centralized directional pad surrounded by the home, settings, and back buttons, with volume and channel toggles placed toward the lower third. It also incorporates a built-in microphone for Gemini voice control.
