A trip to Europe often involves adjusting to plenty of walking, but cars remain the default option for urban mobility. Entrepreneurs are eager to challenge this status quo by first understanding why automobile dependence is so deeply ingrained in society.
For Belgian startup Any, the only way to increase two-wheeler adoption is by ensuring vehicles are built for real life. This means the design must accommodate substantial cargo capacity without compromising on speed, driving range, or versatility.

The LUV1 model offers exceptional carrying capabilities through an open frame or customizable panels depending on whether riders travel with pets, work gear, or camping equipment. Its modularity extends to optional accessories such as a windshield, cargo racks, and a rain poncho tailored for commuters, families, and outdoor enthusiasts.
This modular concept was crafted by former Pininfarina design director Lowie Vermeersch, whose reputation helped the eye-catching LUV1 prototype generate instant headlines when showcased in May during Milan Design Week.

Starting at €7,000 (roughly $8,150), the LUV1 undercuts automobile prices while aligning with high-end electric cargo bikes, requiring only an easily obtainable A1 license compared to heavy motorcycles.
By recruiting engineering talent from iconic automotive brands like Ferrari, Piaggio, and Aprilia, Any is bridging traditional automotive manufacturing standards with urban electric micro-mobility. This strategic positioning helps the startup carve out a distinct niche against growing competition from legacy motorcycle manufacturers.
