Police Committee Rejects King Prajadhipok's Institute Case
The House Committee on Police rejects a bribery allegation against King Prajadhipok's Institute Secretary-General and dismisses the whistleblower over bankruptcy status.

During the House Committee on Police meeting on August 27, members of parliament brought forward an allegation involving Mr. Issara Sereewatthanawut, Secretary-General of King Prajadhipok's Institute (KPI), concerning claims of soliciting money in exchange for course admission.
However, Mr. Watcharapong revealed that the committee voted not to accept the case for formal review, citing insufficient factual evidence. Additionally, since the police complaint had already been withdrawn, the committee decided there was no need to summon Mr. Issara to testify.
King Prajadhipok's Institute runs elite political and governance training courses that attract top executives and politicians in Thailand. Admissions controversies surrounding such prestigious programs often draw intense public scrutiny and political speculation.
Furthermore, the committee passed a resolution to dismiss Mr. Paramet Chaipatcharakulpong, the individual who filed the complaint, from his position as a qualified advisor to the committee after discovering he had a record of bankruptcy, disqualifying him from holding the office.
Mr. Watcharapong added that deep background checks showed Mr. Paramet had changed his first and last names multiple times. The MP who originally nominated him was unaware of his bankruptcy history, forcing the nominator to propose his dismissal directly.

The withdrawal of the complaint followed written confirmation from actual course applicants stating they were never asked for or offered money to secure enrollment. The case also bore suspicious signs of being politically motivated.
According to a course student source, the accusation of soliciting 500,000 baht contradicted reality, as students widely knew Mr. Issara had previously forfeited millions of baht in his official salary to support institute activities. Public asset declarations submitted to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) also showed he held over one billion baht in assets before entering politics.
