Ms. Ploythale revealed the intensified crackdown performance by the Excise Department under the Ministry of Finance, stating that during the first 11 months of fiscal year 2026, authorities successfully arrested and prosecuted a total of 35,739 illegal goods cases. This marked a 5.84 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous year.

In addition to the rise in case numbers, legal settlements and estimated fines compiled throughout these 11 months reached a combined total of 6,274.77 million baht. This figure demonstrates a significant growth rate of 14.98 percent when compared with the corresponding timeframe from the prior year.
Regarding the categorization of goods with the highest violation rates, Excise Department data clearly points out that tobacco products remain at the top of illegal infractions, followed closely by alcohol and oil respectively. The relevant authorities continue to enforce strict suppression measures to maintain economic stability and fair trade practices.
