Aston Villa complete £47m signing of winger Ibrahim Mbaye

Aston Villa have officially completed the signing of 18-year-old Senegal winger Ibrahim Mbaye from French giants Paris St-Germain for a transfer fee of 55 million euros, equivalent to 47 million pounds.
During the previous campaign, the teenager featured in 31 matches across all competitions for PSG, netting 3 goals and providing 2 assists as the club successfully defended their Ligue 1 and Champions League titles.
Mbaye's football journey began when he joined PSG's youth academy in the summer of 2018 from FC Versailles 78. He later progressed to make his senior debut for the club in August 2024 at just 16 years of age.

On the international stage, the winger was born in France and represented Les Bleus at youth levels before switching his international allegiance to Senegal in 2025 through his father. He went on to appear in all four of Senegal's matches at the 2026 World Cup, scoring in a 3-1 defeat against France to become the youngest African player to score at a men's World Cup.
