The House of Representatives meeting descended into chaos at 8:00 PM when MP Pakornwut Udompipatskul of the People's Party questioned the time frame for debating the urgent motion regarding the southern border provinces. He noted that the government whip had previously guaranteed the motion would conclude within the day, but with numerous speakers remaining, the opposition feared their time would be squeezed, demanding a firm commitment on whether the session would proceed until a vote was cast to forward the matter to the cabinet and standing committees.

In response, chair Sophon explained that both deputy speakers had prior commitments and were absent, leaving him to manage the session alone with only 27 government MPs and 5 opposition MPs remaining in the chamber alongside speakers. He stated he would allow debate for a brief period before adjourning and requesting relevant deputy prime ministers to attend the next session. This prompted MP Rangsiman Rome of the People's Party to ask if this meant the debate would not conclude today, to which Sophon replied it would require extending past 11:00 PM, a duration he could not manage alone after sitting for seven hours.
Rangsiman argued that the southern border issue is of paramount urgency and delaying it would cause unnecessary prolongation, prompting the opposition to request a quorum count. Korrawit Pisalsnawakul, a Phumjaithai Party MP and government whip, countered that the initial agreement did not anticipate such extensive debate during the afternoon and that circumstances had changed once opposition members took the floor. Pakornwut retorted that the opposition had not yet begun their speeches.
The atmosphere grew increasingly tense as members from both sides exchanged heated remarks. MP Sukarno Matha of the Prachachat Party expressed disappointment over the quorum check, noting it was a meaningful occasion with former Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva present to debate, and emphasized that southern border residents have suffered for over two decades without government ministers listening. Rangsiman added that because their southern MPs had faced severe violence, ensuring the motion concluded today was vital for swift resolution.

Pitchayut Porjit suggested conducting a roll-call quorum check to prove government MPs remained in the building, while Nantana Songpracha noted that members had to leave the chamber to eat or take medication due to the lack of food in parliament, yet agreed a roll-call quorum check should proceed according to regulations.
Before the situation escalated further, Sophon cut off the disputes by stating that the public monitoring the session was well aware of unfolding events, and officially declared the meeting adjourned at 8:24 PM.
