Flyadeal 2026: CEO Reveals Plans for Premium Economy
Saudi budget carrier Flyadeal is adding connecting flights, taking delivery of A321neo and A330neo jets, and launching premium economy under Vision 2030.

Flyadeal, the low-cost subsidiary of Saudi national carrier Saudia, is preparing to introduce connecting flights onto its existing point-to-point network, according to acting CEO Sanjiv Kapoor, marking a major strategic evolution for the budget carrier.
"Until now, the model for Flyadeal has been a point-to-point airline where connections were not part of our strategy," Kapoor told Skift on Monday. "Pero in the coming weeks, we’re going to introduce connecting flights with origin and destination fares and seamless connections."
This strategic pivot allows Flyadeal to capture high-volume traffic across South and Southeast Asia, effectively feeding religious and migrant travel demand while complementing the network of its full-service sister carrier, Saudia.
The network expansion coincides with forthcoming fleet additions. Flyadeal is scheduled to take delivery of single-aisle Airbus A321neos in the second half of 2026, followed by Airbus A330neo widebodies in the fourth quarter of 2027, enabling service to high-volume long-haul markets such as India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Bangladesh, the Philippines, and Malaysia.

In a notable upgrade for a budget airline, Flyadeal will debut a premium economy product spanning the first two rows of its A330neo widebodies, which will feature a 420-seat layout optimized to balance passenger comfort with aircraft range.

Despite a turbulent 2026 driven by geopolitical tensions involving the U.S. and Iran alongside doubled fuel prices, Flyadeal reported only minimal aircraft delivery delays. The airline remains firmly committed to Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 targets of expanding its fleet and network to over 100 aircraft and 100 destinations, backed by an ongoing network review aimed at eliminating cash-negative operations.
