Emerging in mid-2025, Vibe-coding allows users to build applications, websites, or software without writing a single line of syntax manually. By utilizing tools like Replit or Cursor and entering prompts in English or everyday language, users direct AI to generate the desired code. Even Google CEO Sundar Pichai has experimented with using AI to Vibe-code web pages.
Wang offered compelling advice to the younger generation, stating that a 13-year-old should spend all their time Vibe-coding, as logging 10,000 hours will grant an immense competitive edge. He noted that tech giants like Microsoft and Google already assign over 30% of actual project coding tasks to AI, predicting that within five years, AI models will autonomously write massive amounts of code, including everything he has ever written in his lifetime.

"If you're like 13 years old, you should just spend all your time vibe-coding. That's just how you should live your life. And if you spend 10,000 hours doing it, you're going to be massively ahead."
Consequently, the role of software engineers is shifting from manual coders to directors who communicate with AI using natural language, echoing Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's remark that the most powerful programming language today is human spoken language, not Python or C++.
