- Buzzy AI assistant Instinct, valued at $2.5 billion, is rolling out dedicated email addresses.
- The feature lets the AI create accounts and manage tasks without cluttering users' personal inboxes.
- Users can forward order confirmations to let Instinct handle returns and customer support tasks.
- The AI email can be added to group threads to track exchanges and summarize action items.
The artificial intelligence landscape is shifting toward autonomous execution as Instinct, the viral AI assistant currently valued at $2.5 billion, introduces a major new capability: giving every AI its own dedicated email address.
Company founder Noah Shinn announced on Tuesday that these new email addresses will allow the agent to create and operate its own accounts independently, sparing users' primary inboxes from unnecessary clutter. The feature is designed to let Instinct seamlessly handle routine sign-ups, communicate with businesses, and follow up on pending tasks that traditionally require an email inbox.

Writing on X, Shinn explained that Instinct could utilize its assigned email to reach out to restaurants regarding special requests, check business availability, or sign up for third-party services required to finish a task. Furthermore, users can forward relevant emails directly to the bot. For instance, if a user wants assistance with a product return, they can forward their order confirmation to Instinct, which will then contact support, process the return details, and retrieve a return label.
Instinct's email address can also be integrated into group conversation threads to track ongoing discussions or analyze long message histories, identifying upcoming deadlines and decisions that require user input. The bot operates autonomously while checking in with the user only when necessary.
"For example, Instinct can use its own email to contact a restaurant about a special request, ask a business about availability, or sign up for a service it needs to complete your task,"
Noah Shinn
Granting autonomous AI agents their own email addresses marks a significant leap in agentic workflows, moving from conversational assistance to direct proxy actions. While this shields users from spam and privacy fatigue, it introduces new hurdles for businesses trying to verify the true identity of their counterparty.
This rollout follows a series of updates designed to expand Instinct's operational toolkit, including a partnership with 1Password to streamline user logins, a location-sharing integration, and an August collaboration with Stripe to facilitate bookings, appointments, and payments on behalf of users.
