The device now costs 749 dollars, up from its original 499 dollar launch tag. Despite the steep price bump, the T1 phone's hardware remains entirely unchanged, keeping the generous 512GB of storage and 12GB of RAM that initially caught buyers off guard.
Trump Mobile did not issue a formal announcement regarding the price surge, opting instead to quietly update its official website overnight. This shift did not come completely out of nowhere, as Verge news editor Dominic Preston previously spoke with two Trump Mobile executives who referred to the 499 dollar tag as an introductory rate. Months later, the website dropped that wording and labeled it a promotional price, which has now vanished entirely.

Reviewing the device back in July revealed underwhelming performance even at 499 dollars, meaning a 749 dollar price point leaves virtually no reason to recommend it. Consumers could purchase an iPhone 17E or Galaxy S26 FE and still have 50 dollars left for a gold case, or spend slightly more to acquire older flagship models like the iPhone 16 or Pixel 10, any of which would easily outperform the T1.

Surprisingly, the device has seen slight software maintenance, pushing from Android's February 2026 security patch to the May 2026 version, though it continues running the two-year-old Android 15. Although official shipping commenced in May nearly a year after its announcement, a BBC report from last month indicated that some customers are still waiting for their hardware to arrive.
