Following the major religious scandal involving a disgraced monk that shocked Thai society, popular artist and host Chalermpol Tikampornwareewong, widely known as Jack FanChan, opened up about his past encounter with the monk at Wat Phutthaisawan while shooting a TV program, revealing a bizarre health prediction he received.
Jack FanChan shared that during his visit to film a show, he paid respects to Mae Thorani and was told by locals that the monk in question was extremely famous, prompting him to meet him. According to Jack, the monk wrote a yant (sacred talisman), told him to burn another one, and instructed him to keep it in his wallet before suddenly dropping a shocking prediction about his health.
The scandal surrounding the disgraced monk represents one of the most severe crises shaking Buddhist faith in Thailand, highlighting the critical issue of clerical misconduct and the exploitation of spiritual authority. "If I suggest anything, I think he should have disrobed from the very beginning and gone to open a shrine... If you want to have a wife, just disrobe. Don't waste Buddhism and destroy people's faith."
