On September 13, 2026, Pol. Col. Thawee Sodsong, a party-list Member of Parliament and leader of the Prachachat Party, in his capacity as an advisor to the House Committee on Legal Affairs, Justice and Human Rights, led a delegation to the southern region to participate in a charity event. The event aimed to raise funds for the construction of a school building and a mosque for Thamwittaya School Branch 2, located in Chana District, Songkhla Province.
The atmosphere throughout the event was warm and casual. Pol. Col. Thawee walked around to greet and converse with local residents attending the gathering amidst various activity tents and stalls set up within the school grounds. Many locals approached him to offer encouragement, greet him, and take commemorative photographs.

The reception was attended by a full contingent of local educational administrators, led by Mr. Umaiyil Hmanwang, Director of Thamwittaya School in Songkhla; Mrs. Meena Mhahe, Manager of Thamwittaya Foundation School in Songkhla; Mr. Rosi Bensulong, Director of Thamwittaya School in Yala; Ustaz Abdulrahman Tupa, Manager of Thamwittaya School in Yala; and Dr. Nasrudin Kaji.
Field visits by key political party leaders in Thailand's southern border provinces highlight the significance of maintaining strong ties with local community leaders, educational institutions, and residents. These interactions serve as vital mechanisms for driving educational and social policies in the region, particularly given the influential role that Islamic private schools play within local Muslim communities.
Additionally, during this visit, a prominent local figure—the former president of the Nathawee Lawyers Council—came to meet with him and expressed admiration for Pol. Col. Thawee's political stance on notable national issues, including Senate selection scrutiny and the Khao Kradong land controversy.
