On September 16, 2026, at the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters, the Academic Substance Abuse Center Foundation, led by Foundation Manager Mr. Watcharapong Phumchuen, alongside Asst. Prof. Dr. Niyada Kiatying-Angsulee, Manager of the Drug System Monitoring and Development Center (Thai Drug Watch), and their delegation, arrived to submit an official letter to Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, requesting his endorsement of the Draft Cannabis and Hemp Act (People's Version) and related proposals to be introduced into parliament.
This movement stems from a previous action on June 24, when the foundation and its network submitted a petition at the Government House complaint center. During that visit, the delegation met with Deputy Prime Minister Songsak Tongsi, who oversees drug-related issues, to present problems and exchange perspectives ahead of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking observed on June 26.
