Mr. Pichai Naripthaphan, former Minister of Commerce, highlighted the escalating intensity of the global artificial intelligence race, noting that nations worldwide are rapidly advancing their Data Centers, advanced chips, cloud systems, and energy infrastructure to handle massive data processing demands.
According to Mr. Pichai, Thailand must urgently establish these systematic foundations to prevent falling behind in this crucial technological wave and to successfully transform digital investments into a new economic pillar for the nation.

He emphasized that a Data Center extends far beyond a simple data storage facility, functioning instead as the indispensable infrastructure of the AI economy. If Thailand is genuinely committed to advancing AI technology, developing comprehensive Data Centers and cloud ecosystems is an absolute necessity.
Pushing for Data Center investments marks a critical step for Thailand in attracting capital from global tech hyperscalers. However, the real challenge lies in ensuring a stable green energy supply and power management, requiring close collaboration between the government and private sectors.
Furthermore, the former Commerce Minister addressed employment concerns by urging stakeholders not to overlook indirect job creation, explaining that supporting industries surrounding AI, GPUs, and robotics will cultivate high-skill employment and substantial new national revenue streams.
