On October 18, 2026, Rangsiman Rome, list-MP, deputy leader of the People's Party, and chairman of the House Committee on Legal Affairs, Justice and Human Rights, raised serious concerns regarding political transparency following public statements made by MP Suchada Sangแทนทรัพย์ representing Chaiyaphum province from the Bhumjaithai Party, after she admitted her husband holds shares in an online gambling platform.
Rangsiman revealed that no government agency has yet stepped forward to provide official clarifications or initiate legal procedures concerning the matter, reportedly due to fears that the investigation could implicate certain cabinet ministers. In response, the House Legal Committee has scheduled an urgent meeting for the morning of October 22, summoning multiple key agencies to provide detailed testimonies.
The summoned organizations include the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Central Investigation Bureau, and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society. The committee also expressed strong expectations that Suchada and her husband, Taiyang Sang, will cooperate fully by attending the hearing in person.
Investigating politicians tied to grey-market businesses or online gambling remains a critical test for Thailand's institutional oversight mechanisms. When an elected official publicly acknowledges involvement in illegal enterprises yet regulatory bodies delay formal action, public trust in the rule of law diminishes, underscoring the vital oversight role of parliamentary committees.
The committee chairman emphasized that such blatant infractions should not require persistent prompting from the opposition or parliament, given that the MP herself publicly confirmed her stake in an illegal gambling network. He drew a direct comparison to the case of Chanonphat Naksuwan, MP for Songkhla from the Klatham Party, who faced asset seizures and criminal prosecution.
"Then the question is, should MP Idea not face any verification or legal process at all? Ultimately, do state authorities in power, belonging to the blue color, receive total exemption from any scrutiny whatsoever?"

Regarding potential connections to other high-rank ministers, Rangsiman briefly remarked that the public should wait just a little longer before further details are unveiled ahead of the committee's formal proceedings next week.
